Use of Materials

Attention for usage of library materials

Please return materials that have not been checked out to their original shelf location

  • All checked-out items, including those retrieved from automated storage for in-library use, must be returned to the Counter.
  • Materials are arranged in the following order:
Subject number> Author code > Volume code
If you are unsure of the original location, please ask at the General Counter.

Do NOT write in materials, fold the pages, or tear them

  • Materials that show normal wear and tear due to age and use will not incur a replacement fee. However, please handle all items with care.

Do NOT affix sticky notes or similar items to materials

  • Removing the affixed items may damage the materials.
  • Please use non-adhesive items, such as loose paper or bookmarks.

Be careful NOT to stain the materials

  • Food, including candy, gum, etc., is permitted only in the 5th-floor lounge.
  • During wet weather, please use a plastic bag or waterproof covering to protect the materials.

You may be charged for any damaged items.
In some cases, staff may be able to repair them.
Please notify a staff member at the General Counter immediately if you notice any damage.
As valuable university resources, library materials should be handled with care.
