Photocopying Materials
There are some restrictions on and procedures for photocopying.

Photocopy Machines
- Photocopy machines are located on 1st floor (monochrome and color are available by all of them).
- Two photocopiers for use with prepaid library photocopying cards / coin.
- One photocopier for use with coin.

Cost per sheet copied: 10yen / color 50yen
There is no money-changing machine in the library. Please come with the necessary cash in advance. -
Available currencies: old 1000yen bill, old 500yen coin, 100yen coin, 50yen coin, 10yen coin
Photocopying by professional staff
Because the Japanese and Chinese classic materials held in the stacks are fragile due to age, the photocopying using photocopy machine is not permitted.
If you require copies of these materials, we can arrange for professional staff to make copies provided they are in good condition.
Please proceed as follows;
- Reception hours: 10:00-12:00,13:00-16:30 on weekdays (please apply by 16:00 for same-day pickup)
*NOTICE: Depending on the volume of copies, congestion, and the condition of the materials, we may not be able to provide your copies on the same day even within the available pickup time. - Reception counter: the counter where you received materials
- Fee for UTokyo members: 20 yen per paper (black and white), 60 yen per paper (color)
- Fee for non-UTokyo members: 50 yen per paper (black and white), 90 yen per paper (color)
- Available payment: Only cash. High-denomination bills of 5,000 yen or higher cannot be accepted.
Photographing Materials
Photography of library materials by users is generally not permitted at the General Library. However, photography may be allowed for certain materials, such as Japanese and Chinese classics, provided specific conditions are met.
