The General Library provides the following services since The University of Tokyo Activity Restrictions Index for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is downgraded to Level 1 on 15th June.

1. Opening / Closing information

The General Library will be open as blow from 15th June.

  Main Bldg. Library Plaza (Annex Bldg.)
Weekday Open from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Closed
Weekend and Holiday Closed Closed

2. Availability of facilities and conditions to use

  • For UTokyo Members;
    • The reading desks and rooms are unavailable.
    • The access to the stack will be limited to the library staff only.
    • The ECCS facilities are suspended for use.
    • The users are required to wear face masks in the library.
    • No limit to admittance.
    • The Library Plaza is closed.
  • For Non-UTokyo Members;
    • No admittance.
    • The General Library service and public viewing are not available.

3. Usage of library materials for Utokyo members.

  • The library materials are for only to check in/out and short period use of photocopiers.
  •  Please use the check-out machine for the open-shelf materials.
  • Automated Storage materials   are processed at the counter as usual.
  • The stack materials are served by the library staff. Please ask at the service counter to check out.
  • Returning the materials and receiving the reserved books are available.
  • Short period use of photocopiers is available. Please keep the minimal amount.
  • The book/document delivery service for library materials via MyOPAC is available.
  • Rare books, Microforms, and the Digitized Contents Transmission Service by the National Diet Library are available by reservation in advance.

4. Others

  • The parcel book delivery and mail photocopy service on the General Library materials is available for UTokyo members whom unable to visit the library. (The required conditions are changed from the service during the Level 2.) >>For details
