Support for Users Who Need Special Assistance

The Komaba Library aims to create a comfortable environment for all students, faculty and staff.

Users with Disabilities

You can check the locations of elevators, priority seats for users with special needs, and accessible bathrooms on the floor map.

A magnifying reader and braille dictionaries/braille lists are equipped in the reading room for the Visually-impaired.

Reading Room for the Visually-impaired

Under certain conditions, the University of Tokyo Library System offers the following services for UTokyo members with print disabilities or visual impairment.

Digitization Service for Print Disabilities (UTokyo members only)
Interlibrary Loan Service for DAISY or braille materials from the National Diet Library (Komaba Campus Only)

Users with Children

UTokyo members are welcome to bring their pre-school children to the Komaba Library.
Please see here for the areas where children can be accompanied.

・Users can request library staff to get books or journals from shelves(weekdays 9:00-17:00).
・Users can browse materials in the Special Collections Reading Room, borrow/return books, and use a photocopier.
・Please take care that children do not crash or fall.
・Please be considerate of other users around you.
