1.How to access EndNote online

After registering as a user on campus, please see below.

  • 【On campus】
    • https://www.webofscience.com/wos/woscc/basic-search
      ※Access the above URL and click on the link Products→"EndNote" at the top of the screen, then sign in with your registered e-mail address and password.
    • http://www.myendnoteweb.com
      ※Access the above and enter your registered e-mail address and password in the left column of the screen to sign in.
      For user registration, please do not access this URL for user registration, as it will be registered as a free public version.
  • 【Off-campus】

2.User Registration

When using EndNote online for the first time, it is necessary to access Web of Science and use the registration screen.

It is not necessary for those who are already registered users of Web of Science (or EndNote Web) to register again.

(How to register as a user)

  • On-campus
    1. Access https://www.webofscience.com/wos/woscc/basic-search from an on-campus computer station.
    2. Click on "Register".
    3. Fill in the required fields and click the "Submit Registration" button.
     

  • Off-campus
    1. Search for "Web of Science" in the library "Database List". 
    2. Click "Access to Databese (EZproxy)" to access Web of Science.
    3. Click on "Register".
    4. Fill in the required fields and click the "Submit Registration" button.

    If you create an account from off-campus without going through EZproxy, it will be registered as a free public version. In that case, you can rewrite your account settings to those of the University of Tokyo for EndNote online by logging in from a terminal on campus.
     

  • The following people do not need to register as a user.
    • Those who have already registered as a user of Web of Science.
    • Those who have registered as a user of the free public version "EndNote online" that is not attached to Web of Science.

For the above users, the setting will be changed to "EndNote online" of the version attached to Web of Science when you access from a terminal in the university. Your account will remain unchanged.

  • The difference between the free edition and the institutional edition is that the number of styles that can be used when creating a reference list is greatly increased.

3.EndNote online can be used in these ways

EndNote online is a Clarivate Analytics' reference management software that can be used over the Internet.

EndNote online is a service accompanying the University of Tokyo's subscription to Web of Science. The program can be used free of charge by students, faculty and staff, as long as the University of Tokyo subscribes to Web of Science.

EndNote online is different from the desktop edition of "EndNote" and the free edition of "EndNote basic" that is not attached to Web of Science.

EndNote online can be put to use in research, education, or work in a number ways. 
Its main uses are detailed below.

  • Creating your own document database on the Internet. Since the data is stored on the Internet, you can log in and access it from any location. Up 50,000 data subjects can be stored. 
  • Sharing document folders. Document lists created through EndNote online can be made available on the Internet to classes, seminars, research groups, or other specified members. Sharing is available only to registered users who are affiliated with a university subscribing to Web of Science.

5.After graduation and separation from employment

If you are no longer a member of a Web of Science contracted institution, such as after graduation, your settings will change to the free edition of EndNote basic a year after your last access.
The difference is that the number of styles that can be used when creating a citation list will be greatly reduced.
You can also choose to purchase the paid version individually.
