Usage of General Library materials for Non U-Tokyo Members (by reservation in advance)

The General Library provides the services that usage of the General Library materials to Non U-Tokyo members (including Alumni) by advance reservations.

Reception Duration From 10 to 3 weekdays in advance of the date you wish to visit (exclude Saturday, Sunday, national holiday, and library closing day).

Hours

Up to 2 hours during 9:00 – 17:00 Weekdays (except closing day)
If you need more than 2 hours with specific reason, please state your reason and preferable length of stay in the message section.

How to Apply Please apply from 10 to 3 weekdays in advance of the date you wish to visit (date counts exclude Saturday, Sunday, national holiday, and library closing day).
How to Use
  1. Apply from “Application Form” at the end of this page.
  2. Confirmation mail will be sent to your filled e-mail address.
    * If application is declined; correspondence e-mail will be sent. No response from the library for accepted application.

  3. Please come to the General Library reception at the appointed date and time.
Conditions to Use
  • Reservation is required. No admittance without reservation.
  • For whom does not have U-Tokyo Library admission ID or Library Card, please present a form of official identification that includes your name and address.
  • Please wear face masks in the library.
  • Keep your visit minimal and no longer than 2 hours.
  • Search and find the materials on the OPAC carefully and apply with the complete title(s).
  • If you wish to confirm the materials are available, please fill in the message section with the title and call number of the material. (If you need to confirm our holding information, please let us know via inquiry form.)
  • Please note that we don't put the books other than stack materials on hold and also some books will not be available if the book is being used by someone else on the day.

  • Please use the designated desk. There are limited numbers of the desks so your application might be declined by e-mail when there is no vacancy.
  • Expired U-Tokyo Library admission ID or U-Tokyo Library Card could be renewed when you visit to the General Library. Please bring your ID. However only for the purpose of renewal your admission ID or Library Card will be declined.
  • Accompanying persons, including preschool children, are not permitted in the library. Caregivers are excluded.
