Kashiwa Library's response to the New Coronavirus Disease for people outside the university

The Kashiwa Library will respond as shown in the road map below according to the level of [Activity Restrictions Index] posted on the University of Tokyo website [University Response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019].

From Oct. 19(Mon), 2020, we will resume the use of visitors from outside the university.

 

Available Time

  • Admission Procedure Reception: Opening Weekdays 9:00-17:00
  • Available Time: Weekdays 9:00-21:00 (August, September, March 9:00-17:00)
    * After the admission procedure, you can use it until the closing time. The procedure will not be accepted after 17:00.
    * Not available on Saturdays. (including Kashiwa Library Club members)
    * If the number of infected people increases, we may stop the services for people outside the university.

What You Need to Enter the Library

  • Graduates: The Admission Card of the University of Tokyo Library, Physical Condition Report Form
  • Kashiwa Library Club Members: Kashiwa Library Club Members Card, Physical Condition Report Form
  • Those who belong to universities and research institutes: Affiliated institution ID / student ID, Physical Condition Report Form
  • Members of the General Public: Official ID with your name and current address, Application Form for Using the Library, Physical Condition Report Form
    * The Physical Condition Report Form is also provided in front of the entrance gate on the 2nd floor of the library.
    * The Physical Condition Report Form is in Japanese only.

Admission Procedure

  • Please bring the Physical Condition Report Form (filled in) to the counter or fill it out on the spot.
  • Please present the University of Tokyo Library admission card, Kashiwa Library Club  members card, ID card, etc. and the Physical Condition Report Form.
  • The admission procedure is complete when the reception stamp is stamped on the Physical Condition Report Form. The staff will open the entrance gate, so please enter.
    * At the time of enter, the staff may measure the temperature of you.
    * The entrance gate will not open with The Admission Card of The University of Tokyo Library and Kashiwa Library Club members card.
  • Please carry your Physical Condition Report Form, the Admission Card of the University of Tokyo Library, Kashiwa Library Club members card, ID card, etc. with you during your stay at the library. And present them at the counter each time you re-enter the library on the day of your stay.
  • When you leave the library, please fill in the exit time to your Physical Condition Report Form by yourself and post it to the submission box next to the gate.

Precautions when Visiting

1. Admission to the Campus

The University of Tokyo Kashiwa Campus is prohibited from entering by visitors from outside of the university, however, it is permitted only for the use of the Kashiwa Library. Please be sure to follow the rules below when entering the campus.

  1. Please refrain from visiting if you are not feeling well or have a body temperature of 37.5 degrees or higher.
  2. Please do not enter any buildings other than the library on campus. You can't use the co-op or cafeteria, either.
  3. You can't use private cars or shuttle buses to come to the campus.
  4. Please wear a mask when you come to the library. If you do not have a mask, you will not be admitted.
  5. Please bring the Physical Condition Report Form (filled in) to the counter or fill it out on the spot.
  6. If you have a smartphone, please use the COVID-19 Contact-Confirming Application (COCOA) of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.


2. Precautions when Using the Library

  1. Please wear a mask at all times while you are in the library.
  2. Please refrain from staying in the library for a long time. Please leave the library as soon as you complete your purpose.
  3. Please be aware of social distance and refrain from talking. Also, please minimize the conversation with the staff.
  4. Headphones for watching DVDs and using the BBC / CNN corner are no longer available for rent, so please bring your own ones.
  5. Knowledge Work Studio will continue to be unavailable.


3. When infection with the new coronavirus is found

If you find that you have been infected with the new coronavirus within two weeks after entering the Kashiwa Library, please contact us. It will be used to confirm the presence or absence of close contacts in the library.
