4-1.[NDL] Digitized Contents Transmission Service for Libraries

4-1-1.About the service

Science Library is one of the partner libraries of the National Diet Library (NDL) Digitized Contents Transmission Service. Many digitized materials, include out-of-print or difficult-to-obtain materials, are available through this service.

You can search the materials via NDL Digital Collections search page. Materials for this service are marked with "Available with Digitized Contents Transmission Service".

4-1-2.Who can use

  • Member of School of Science
  • Student, Staff and Emeritus Professor whoes Home Library is Science Library
    Former faculty member, alumni and non-member of School of Science cannot use this service in Science Library.

4-1-3.How to use

  • Reading:9:00-17:00 (weekdays, reception until 16:30)
    • Please come to the service desk on the 3rd floor of Science Library between 9:00 and 16:30 on weekdays. Library staff will guide you to the dedicated terminal for this service on the 3rd floor of Science Library.
    • It is forbidden to save PDF file.
       
  • Photocopies
    • Photocopying is within the scope of copyright. Please fill out a photocopy request form at the service desk on the 3rd floor.

    • A printout will be provided. Electronic data cannot be delivered. It may be difficult to give you printed materials immediately, so please apply well in advance of time.

    • You can also apply for photocopies from MyOPAC. Prior application is required for MyOAPC. Please check HERE.
      *Must be picked up at Science Library. It cannot be sent to the laboratory.
       

  • Photocopying Fees:Black-and-white 20 yen/sheet, Color 60 yen/sheet【Free Service】
    • No procedure is required for payment from public expense.
    • Payment from private expense should be made through ATM bank transfers. The Science Library will inform you the details by e-mail.

 

4-2.Visit to Other University Library

When you wish to visit other libraries, you may need a letter of introduction. In the following case, Science Library will inquire to the library you want to visit on your behalf, and then issue the letter.

  • The website of the library you want to visit say that you need contact your universy library.
  • It is unclear whether visitor allowed to use.

If you want a letter of introduction, please let us following items via e-mail. It may take some time to process issue the letter for few days. Please consult with us well in advance.

Some libraries have suspended using of visitors to prevent COVID 19, please check the information on the website of the library you want to visit.

  • E-mail Subject: Letter of introduction request (your name)
  1. Name
  2. Department, Position, Grade
  3. UTokyo Accout or Library ID
  4. Library that you want to visit
  5. Date and time desired for your visiting
    *Please let me know until the third preferred date.
