Renewal Procedure

If you apply to the following, please go through the renewal procedure at the counter. After you have gone through the procedures, you will be able to enter the library and borrow materials.

* For students, please refer "Students" part at the bottom of this screen.

Faculty Staff

  • When a new staff ID has been issued due to reasons such as extending the expiry date, or because you have lost it
  • When your period of employment has been extended

Professor Emeritus

  • When a new proof of professor emeritus has been issued due to reasons such as extending the expiry date, or because you have lost it

Required Documents

Please come to the counter with the things required for renewal procedure*.
*These things are necessary due to the University of Tokyo libraries common operative regulation.

Application Form
We will ask you to fill in the form at the counter. Also you can fill it in beforehand and bring it to the counter.

 

Faculty Staff

  • Staff ID
  • When your staff ID has not been issued yet, please bring a document indicating that you are a faculty staff of the University of Tokyo and your identification (insurance card, driving license, etc.) .
    *We will issue your temporary card. You will need to go through the registration procedure again, after your staff ID has been issued.
  • If you are a Fixed-term Full-time Staff or Part-time Staff,  please bring the University of Tokyo Library Card, a document indicating your period of employment and your identification (insurance card, driving license, etc.) .

Students

  • For the reasons below, when a new student ID card is issued, if the contact address (address, telephone number, e-mail address) has been registered on UTAS, no renewal procedure is necessary.
    • Proceeding to the next stage of education (from Junior Division to Senior Division, from Senior Division to Master's Program, or from Master's Program to Doctoral Program/Course)
    • When there is a change to the expiry date of your ID due to reasons such as taking a remedial year or repeating a year
    • When your ID has been lost/stolen
  • If your contacts on UTAS are missing, your library account is not automatically renewed. Please register your contacts: address, phone number, email address with UTAS. If you cannot use UTAS, please ask the library staff at the counter with your student ID.

Cautions

If you are a faculty staff/student who has been reissued their identification (reissuing due to extending the expiry date), please also go through the "Procedure for Delivery Service (applying for MyOPAC Delivery Service Request)" again.
