Borrowing, Renewing and Returning

Borrowing

To borrow materials, bring them to the Library Service Counter with your student/faculty ID card.

Renewing Book Loans

Please go to MyOPAC and renew book loan from "Check Status loan" menu.

You can also renew your book loan at the Library Service Counter.

Cases when the loan period cannot be extended:

  • AV materials, Journals
  • Someone else has reserved the book.
  • The book is already overdue/during the suspension period of your borrowing privilege

Returning

Please bring borrowed items back to the Library Service Counter. When books, DVDs, CD-ROMs are overdue, you can neither check out any other materials nor renew overdue materials. Your borrowing privileges will be suspended proportionate to the number of days the materials are overdue.

When the Kashiwa Library is closed, please drop books into the return box located near the main entrance on the 1st floor.

*When returning DVDs, CD-ROMs, or books checked out from other libraries, be sure to bring all such items back to the Library Service Counter.

Returning books at your most convenient campus library

You can return books that are checked out from Kashiwa Library to the General Library on the main campus in Hongo or to the Komaba Library on the Komaba campus; and you may also return books that are checked out from other campus university libraries to Kashiwa Library.

Returning books by mail

Only the materials in the Kashiwa Library can be returned by mail if you contact us in advance.

* Please send by prepayment.

When sending, please wrap the books tightly in a plastic bag or cushioning materialto prevent stains, damage, water damage, etc., and send it in a recordable form such as a letter pack or Yu-pack.
