You will not be able to make copies of the following items by yourself:

• Rare books
• Printed before 1900
• Wasouhon (i.e. traditional Japanese-style books made of washi)
• Fragile materials subject to restrictions of physical condition

As a general rule, a limited amount of copying by staff from these materials is allowed. 
Please ask to the stack desk.

Alternatively some materials are available as digital copies or microfilms. You should use it unless the circumstances are exceptional.
