Kashiwa Library logo has been selected.

KashiwaLibLogotype

We hope that the Kashiwa Library's philosophy of “Library Supporting Intellectual Exchange” will be widely shared through the establishment of the logo, and that Kashiwa Library, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary in February 2025, will become even more familiar to its users.
We would like to thank the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences for its cooperation in soliciting proposals for the logo. We would like to express our sincere appreciation.

Selection Process

Thank you to the many people who voted in the on-campus web vote held from August 6 to 20 (total votes: 319, Of which Kashiwa campus members: 224). In response, the Kashiwa Library Management Committee discussed and voted on the two proposals that received the highest number of votes out of the four proposals in the on-campus web vote, and selected the final proposal on August 28. The above logo was then finalized after consultation with the UTokyo Brand Studio and final adjustments by professional designers.

“I am honored that my design has been selected as the official logo for Kashiwa Library. This logo represents the deep connection between the University of Tokyo Kashiwa and the community, symbolizing the library's role as a hub of knowledge and excellence. It reflects the spirit of collaboration, learning, and growth that both students and residents experience at Kashiwa Library. I hope that this logo will strengthen the library’s brand and identity, further promoting it as a space of inspiration and discovery for everyone in Kashiwanoha.”

Kashiwa Library Director's Comment

I would like to express my gratitude to the many people who helped to decide on the Kashiwa Library logo. I would also like to thank the Graduate School of Frontier Sciences for their help in making use of the On-Campus Job system, which enabled us to invite various proposals from students. We received many excellent and high quality proposals, including the one submitted by Mr. Sharma, whose design was selected as the winner by vote. The logo that was chosen was the one that received the most support from the public, and it reflects the feelings of the Kashiwa Campus residents. I hope that this will be an opportunity for the Kashiwa Library to become even more familiar and accessible to everyone.  I would like to ask for your continued support in the future.
