Science Library (Bldg.1) and Library of Chemistry (Chemistry Bldg.) will reopen with reduced hours from July 15, 2020. Access to the libraries is restricted to members of School of Science until further notice. The services will be limited as below to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Access

• Opening hours: 10:00-16:00 weekdays only

Access to the libraries is restricted to members of School of Science.
After hours use for members of School of Science is unavailable.

Facilities

• The reading table is limited in quantity. Study areas are restricted. However, we have a few tables for consulting books for library use only and large sized books.
• A photocopier which can be used at public expense is available.
• PCs are unavailable.
• Lounge and Seminar Room are closed.

Please note:

• If you have symptoms such as fever or cold, or feel unwell, please refrain from visiting.
• Wear a surgical mask, and mind cough etiquette.
• Disinfect your fingers with alcohol when entering and leaving the library.
• Check your temperature when entering the library. Please refrain from entering if your temperature is over 37.5 degrees Celsius or more than one degree higher than normal.
• Keep your distance from others. Refrain from talking.
• Put the library items on book trolleys after using them.
• The reading table is limited in quantity. Please refrain from a long time of use. Avoid staying for more than 30 minutes.

Materials in the closed stacks

An application is needed to use materials in the closed stacks. Please apply between 10:00 and 15:00 on weekdays. We recommend you to contact us by e-mail in advance. Theses are in the closed stacks and for library use only.

Returning

There is a return box in front of the library, but please note that the buildings of School of Science have been locked. Please return the books of other libraries at the service desk and avoid dropping them to the return box.
If you have trouble to return library items, please let us know by e-mail.
You can also return books by post with tracking service. Postage is paid by the borrowers.

Postal Loan and Photocopy Service

Postal Loan and Photocopy Service is available for members of School of Science until July 31 August 31 September 30. See "Postal Loan and Photocopy Service" for details.
