To use it, you need to create an account and log in.
Please create an account using your University of Tokyo email address (*only @mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp or @g.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp). Visit nytimes.com/passes to create one. For detailed steps, please refer to manuals (2) and (3).
You can also use it from off-campus by logging in with your account. EZproxy cannot be used.

Two search platforms are available.
①The New York Times Article Archive
You can view partial or full text of articles from 1851 to today.
You can search by keyword using the search box on the top left or https://www.nytimes.com/search/.
②The Times Machine
You can view page images of all issues from 1851 to 2002.
You can search by date or keyword at https://timesmachine.nytimes.com/browser.

A variety of educational content provided by The New York Times is available. For details, please see (1) in the manual.
You will need to register for a separate account and log in. Please register using your University of Tokyo email address (*only @mail.u-tokyo.ac.jp or @g.ecc.u-tokyo.ac.jp) from "REGISTER" in the upper right corner. There is no problem using the same email address as The New York Times.

If you download The New York Times app and log in with the account you created, you can also view paid articles. (The New York Times app itself is free to download.)
