Opening Hours

Admission Restrictions

・Allowed  (Please check the procedures to enter the library in the ”User Guide.”)
 UTokyo members
 Professors emeritus
 Members of the "Todai Komaba Tomo-no Kai"
 Former teaching staff
 Chief librarian authorized users
 Alumni
 Members of other universities/research institutes
 Members of the public
 Library tour for groups of up to 10 people

・Not allowed
 Library tour for groups of 11 or more people

 Please wait until the infection status subsides and our further notice is issued.

Notes on Admission

・Please wear a face mask.
・Please check your body temperature by thermography at the entrance gate before entering the library.
・Please wash or sanitize your hands before/after using library books and facilities.
・Please observe the "coughing manners".
・When pushing buttons on equipment such as an elevator, stack shelves on the basement floors, self-checkout machines, copy machines, it is recommended to press the button with the second joint of the finger.
・Please refrain from talking in the library.
・Please be aware of your social distance.

Please refrain from visiting or entering the library if any of the following conditions are met.

・Those who have symptoms such as coughs or fever
・Those who had a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher on the morning of the day or by thermography at the entrance gate
・Those who have had close contact with the Novel Coronavirus Disease patients
・Those who in a period required to self-quarantine at home after entering or returning from abroad

Restrictions on Facilities

Almost all seats are available at the reading seats and the Media Park except for some desks without partitions.
The Group Study Room is available for up to 6 people in maximum.
We've resumed allowing you to consume drinks and food at the eating and drinking corner in the Sky Lounge. Please refrain from chatting while eating.
The water supply machine is only for filling a water bottle etc.; directly drinking is not allowed.

Returning Books

Please place the books into the Book Drop in the library or next to the entrance even when the library is open. When the library is closed, please use the Book Drop next to the entrance.

In case it is difficult to visit the Library to return the books and resources, you may contact us in advance and return them by post. However, it is limited to books of Komaba library. Please see ” Returning by Post" for further information.

You will not have overdue penalties to materials if the return is delayed due to having had close contact with the Novel Coronavirus Disease patient. Please contact the following inquiries before the return.
