Opening Hours

・Opening Hours in April
 Weekdays: Open from 10:00 to 20:00
 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: Open from 10:00 to 19:00
 1, 2, 5 April: Open from 10:00 to 17:00
  3, 4, 12 April: Closed

・Opening Hours in May
 Weekdays: Open from 10:00 to 20:00
 Saturdays, Sundays and holidays: Open from 10:00 to 19:00
  14 May: Closed

Admission Restrictions

・Allowed   It’s not necessary to make a reservation to enter the Komaba Library.
 UTokyo members
 Professors emeritus
 Members and Friend Members of the "Todai Komaba Tomo-no Kai"

・Not allowed
 Former teaching staff
 Users who are authorized by a chief librarian
 Alumni (including those who have the entrance pass for the University of Tokyo Library System)
 Members of other universities/research institutes
 Members of the public

Please wait until the infection status subsides and our further notice is issued.
Members of other universities/research institutes can use the Interlibrary loan service. Please ask at your institution’s library.

Notes on Admission

・The Komaba Library is not available for taking online classes and exams.
・Please be sure to wear a face mask.
・Please check your body temperature by thermography at the entrance gate before entering the library.
・Library books and facilities are used by many people. Please wash or sanitize your hands before/after using library books and facilities. Hand sanitizer is available near the entrance gate and in the OPAC corner on each floor (except the first floor).
・Please observe the "coughing manners".
・When pushing buttons on equipment such as an elevator, stack shelves on the basement floors, self-checkout machines, copy machines, it is recommended to press the button with the second joint of the finger.
・Please refrain from talking in the library.
・Please refrain from staying for a long time.
・Please be aware of your social distance.

Please refrain from visiting or entering the library if any of the following conditions are met.

・Those who have symptoms such as coughs or fever
・Those who had a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher on the morning of the day
・Those who have not passed 14 days after entering Japan from the quarantine enhancement target area
・Those who have had close contact with the COVID-19 patients
・Those who had a temperature of 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher by thermography at the entrance gate

Restrictions on Facilities

The reading seats and the Media Park are partially available (reduced to 1/3 seats).
The Group Study Room, eating and drinking corner and water supply in the lounge are not available.

If you are a non-member of the Komaba I Campus and can visit your home library, please reserve the book from MyOPAC regardless of your status.

Returning Books

Please place the books into the Book Drop in the library or next to the entrance even when the library is open. When the library is closed, please use the Book Drop next to the entrance.

In case it is difficult to visit the Library to return the books and resources, you may contact us in advance and return them by post. However, it is limited to books of Komaba library. Please see ” Returning by Post" for further information.

You will not have overdue penalties to materials if the return is delayed due to having had close contact with the COVID-19 patient. Please contact the following inquiries before the return.
