The University of Tokyo Library System is the system that consists of the General Library, Komaba Library, Kashiwa Library, and faculty/institution libraries


Reading materials held by the library of a faculty/institution other than yours

Library hours and services vary from library to library.


Photocopying materials at research expense

 Within those faculty/intsitution libraries under the System for Photocopying Intra-University Materials at research's Expense, you can photocopy a material held by the library of a faculty/institution other than yours at research's expense. You need to submit the "Request Form for Photocopying Material." You can also acquire a photocopy from a remote faculty/institution library other than yours through the library of your faculty/instituion using the intra-University courier service.




Borrowing books from the library of a faculty other than yours

You can borrow books from the library of a faculty/institution other than yours (excluding some libraries).




Inter-library loan & delivery service between libraries in Hongo, Komaba, Kashiwa, Shirogane and Nakano Campuses

Inter-library loan & delivery service between libraries in the campuses is available for researchers as teachers and graduates(some libraries are excluded).



Using a library outside University

You can use other university libraries for materials not included in the holdings of University of Tokyo. Points of contact of other university libraries vary according to the usage method.

Searching holdings of other universities

Those books can be searched with the following general catalog database at the National Institute for Informatics



Reading   
  1. Letter of Introduction : Letter of introduction is needed for reading a material of other university.      
  2. If you are a University researcher (teacher or graduate), you can use the national university libraries with your ID card.
