Book purchase requests

You can make a request for books you believe would be a good addition to the library collection.

You can make a request from MyOPAC's "Books Request" menu. [My OPAC]

When you request purchase of new books as addition to the library collection, please note the followings:

1. Write request comments in detail

If the reason of the request is ambiguous, we will be unable to consider your request.
Please write specifically why the book should be added to the library collection.

Bad example:

  • "Because I'm interested in it"

  • "need for my research"

Good example:

  • "I need for my research on hydraulic engineering and it will be useful for rest of my department members"

  • "This book is very important for our research of revegetation technology, but there is no copy in the university."

2. Types of books and other materials not considered

Novels / recreation and hobby books / how-to books / books for learning foreign languages /
problem exercise books / books for self-development / movies / magazines, and journals.

3. When other libraries in the university have a copy of the book you wanted

Please tell the reason why you want the book in Kashiwa Library.
(For example: There is a book in Komaba campus, but it isn't available for loan.)
You can use four other research libraries on Kashiwa campus.
You can also make a book delivery request to libraries on other campuses via MyOPAC.
Within a few days you can receive the book at Kashiwa Library or your department libraries (ISSP, ICRR, and AORI)
(Some materials are excluded from delivery service.)

We look forward to receiving your request!
